New Steering Committee Meeting-September 06

The steering committee for the Hampton (I) University Class of 1961 leadership held a meeting at the home of Audrey Spriggs Smith, class leader on September 11, 2006 in Columbia Maryland. In attendance were Joe Nickens, co-class leader, Sandra Frye Randolph, Lois Martin Simons, Rosemary Fonville, Darryl I. Randolph, Sylvia Henderson, Mel Henderson.

We discussed pledges that were made at the reunion and encourage all who pledged to start putting the money away or send it to Johnnie for the class savings. There will be more information on the Blog in reference to the pledges and how close we are to meeting our goal.

We want to try and contact or locate lost class mates to include those who didn’t march with the class so they can make plans to join us for our 50th reunion.

The steering committee will meet twice a year for the next two years.

There will be a class of 1961 meeting at 7 pm on October 27, 2006, the night before Homecoming. The meeting will be held in the Cyber Lounge on the 2nd floor of the Student Center on campus. Please arrange your schedule to arrive for Homecoming early on Friday in order to attend the meeting.
